DIRECTIONS TO THE BOOT INN
How to find us
Directions From The South
- Proceed North up the M6 Motorway,
leaving at Junction 36.
- Turn Left onto the A590 Dual Carriageway
and stay on this road for 3 miles, before turning left onto a slip road signed
A590 Barrow. Turn left at the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road onto
the A590. (This is mostly Dual Carriageway.) After 6 miles you come to a roundabout
which you need to turn right at, again onto the A590, and signed Barrow and
Newby Bridge .
- Proceed along this road for a
further 11 miles before coming to a right turn, at a place called Greenodd,
onto the A5092 (A595) and signed Workington and Whitehaven. Carry on along
this road for approximately 11.5 miles until you reach Duddon Bridge with
(permanent) Traffic Lights – turn right signed Ulpha and Seathwaite.
- At this point the roads get (a
lot) narrower! 3.7 miles later turn left (signed Eskdale and Whitehaven) 300
yards after the Post Office. Up the “short, sharp, shock” hill,
and over the hills for 6.5 miles.
- When you reach the King George
IV pub, turn right – signed Boot and Eskdale Railway. You’re almost
there!
- After another 1.8 miles turn left
just after Brook House – we are just up here on the left. The car park
entrance is to the rear. Now you deserve a drink!
